The Art of the Portrait- Painting the portrait in oil- This six week class by Brian
Keeler will introduce the students to the art of painting the head in a single
sitting. This process is referred to as "Alla Prima" which is the Italian term given to

French equivalent
term "Premier Coup" is also used, but the later has a more aggressive
connotation and suggests the martial aspect of painting. This class is for those
new to painting but equally well suited for the seasoned artists. The fee is $350
for the six week course, which will meet every Monday evening at 6:30,
beginning Feb 21. We will work from live models. Artists must have easels, and
all of art supplies. A list of requisites will be given upon registration.
