Celtic Coasts & Hebridian Highlands, new work of Keeler at Laura Craig

Celtic Coasts and Hebridian Highlands- New work by Brian Keeler of Ireland and Scotland at
the
Laura Craig Gallery in Scranton, PA, 307 Linden St (near the corner of Penn and Linden). The
beautiful gallery is located in the historic GAR building at street level. Keeler will show plein
air
and studio works based on his recent trips (last fall and this this year) to the heart of these
ancestral lands. The exhibit will also feature new landscapes of the Northern Susquehanna
Region of PA and the Finger Lakes area on NY. Stop by for First Friday, the opening reception,

Lucent Elixir- Keeler paintings at LaPelle Gallery

"Spring Street Light, Ithaca, NY" oil on linen 26" x 30" $2,800 This street scene of a Victorian home known as the Titus House in Ithaca will be part of the show at the La Pelle Gallery.
Lucent Elixir, a show of recent paintings at the Rodger LaPelle Gallery in
Philadelphia, PA. This show will feature some of Brian Keelers work from the Emerald
Island
along with paintings from other locales where he has found the muse. These include his
home area of the Finger Lakes, The northern Susquehanna region, Italy, and Maine as well
as figurative and allegorical works.
The opening will be on First Friday, July 7th from 5 to 9. The exhibit remains up until August
31st.

Heliodelic Examples- Selections from Brian Keeler's one man exhibit at the Roberson
Musuem in Binghamton, NY last year will be featured at Keeler's North Star Art Gallery on 743
Snyder Hill Road in Ithaca, NY. The event will open on Saturday, July 1st as part of the
Greater Ithaca Art Trail. Stop by from 10 am until 3 on Saturday July 1. Enter the gallery
through the door on the back left. The gallery is located in a repurposed garage that is now a
beautiful display area. The house is a large Victorian with a cupola on the corner of Besemer
Hill Road and Snyder Hill Road just 3 miles east of East Hill Plaza. The gallery is open by

25th Annual Susquehanna River Float- Plein Air, Art and Music

The 25th Annual Susquehanna Plein Air Painting and Music Event- August 18-20, 2017-
Join us on
a beautiful section
of the North Branch of the Susquehanna RIver in Wyoming County, PA for weekend of
Painting, music, dance and nature appreciation. The event this year is partnering with the
Kitson Art Alliance in Tunkhannock, PA. The Kitson Alliance is featuring an outdoor concert
by Ithaca-based vintage swing combo, Zingology on Friday afternoon from 4 to 7:30 in the
Gazebo on the Court House Lawn. To learn more about the combo, visit
www.zingology.net. Saturday the participants paddle from Meshoppen, PA (departing at
noon) to The
Howland Preserve at Vosburg. There will be a dance and
dinner on Saturday night also featuring Zingology in the Barn at the Howland Preserve. In
the late afternoon there will be open
jamming before and
after the dinner/dance event and on Sunday morning so bring your voice or instrument.
For painters, bring your own gear and set up to paint the river and nature at various times
during the weekend. The plan is for the painters to meet at the Meshoppen boat launch at 9
am on Saturday for a 2 1/2 hour paint session before launching the boats. We might stop
along the river on the way down to the Howland to paint also.
Sunday the
paddlers head down river again to finish before the bridge in Tunkhannock. For

The debut of Keeler North Star Gallery- The new studio-gallery at our home on the east side
of Ithaca will be open to the public today from 10 to three. The stately 1865 Victorian home
on the corner of Snyder Hill and Besemer Hill Roads is where you'll find the studio. Its in an
original attached wing of the house that was formerly a large. Its has be transformed into a
nice two story work and show space. During this open house we are featuring townscapes
and landscapes with historic architecture depicted. You can learn more by visiting the spiffy

Portrait Demo- West End Gallery

An oil portrait demo at the West End Gallery
Visit the West End Gallery for the Arts in Bloom Fest during the last week of August. This is
city-wide celebration of the arts. The gallery will have several of its artists showing the
public all the splendor of creation required during the painting process. Each artist will be
demonstrating a different subject matter and several different media. Brian Keeler will be
doing two alla prima oil portraits on Sunday, April 30th starting at noon. He will paint in oils in
one sitting a male portrait (Jerry) at noon then a woman's portrait (Mary) starting around 3-
both from live models. Come learn about the art of portraiture as you see a portrait created
(and explained).
